Twentyeight Health Announces Expansion Across Midwestern United States

Telemedicine platform for women’s sexual and reproductive healthcare doubles U.S. coverage area in Q1 2021

NEW YORK, March 9, 2021 — Twentyeight Health, a digital health company offering affordable access and convenience for women’s sexual and reproductive healthcare, today announced an expansion across the midwestern United States. Starting today, Twentyeight Health is available to residents of Illinois, Minnesota, and Ohio. Twentyeight Health is now operational in 12 states — doubling its availability across the U.S. in the first quarter of 2021.

“Women deserve high-quality and accessible sexual and reproductive healthcare, but today, millions of women aren’t able to receive care because of where they live, how much money they make, or what type of health insurance they have,” said Amy Fan, co-founder of Twentyeight Health. “Twentyeight Health is bringing a dignified care experience to women that is inclusive across race, income bracket, and health insurance status.

More than 19 million women of reproductive age in the US live in contraceptive deserts, according to Power to Decide. With today’s expansion, Twentyeight Health now offers telemedicine services for birth control in California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Washington. Twentyeight Health accepts Medicaid in many of the states it’s available in, along with a wide range of commercial insurance. Twentyeight Health also donates 2% of revenues to Bedsider and the National Institute for Reproductive Health, as part of the company’s efforts to provide free birth control to women who are not able to pay out of pocket. Livia Keseman, the strategic projects manager at Twentyeight, has spearheaded the growth into new geographies.

“In 2021, our team is focused on bringing Twentyeight Health to the majority of the U.S. population,” said Bruno Van Tuykom, co-founder of Twentyeight Health. “Twentyeight Health is well-positioned to launch in additional states over the course of 2021, and expand the types of healthcare services we offer to support women through different life stages.”

Twentyeight Health raised $5.1M in a seed funding round led by Third Prime, and recently announced an expansion across the West Coast. The company has also partnered with Healthify and Juno4Me as part of the organization’s continued growth. To learn more about Twentyeight Health, visit www.twentyeighthealth.com.
