Who is Twentyeight Health for?

Twentyeight Health is for any woman, 18 to 49 years old, who is looking for a personalized and convenient way to access birth control. We will soon expand to women below 18 years old.

Can I get a new prescription to birth control?

Yes! Sign up for Twentyeight Health and fill out a medical questionnaire. If you’d like, you have the option to do a short audio consultation. After the doctor reviews your info to confirm your eligibility, she will write you a prescription and you will have your birth control delivered to your door within 2 to 3 days.

Can I get refills for my pre-existing birth control prescription?

We don’t do prescription transfers, but if you already have a birth control you’re happy with, a doctor will review your medication and write you a new year-long prescription for the same or comparable medication.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we do! If you use your insurance, you will not pay more than your co-pay (which can sometimes be $0), and get the home delivery and messaging with doctors for free.

At this time, we are unable to accept Medicaid.

What do I do if I’m going on vacation?

Reach out to us at contact@twentyeighthealth.com, at least two weeks before your vacation, with the dates you will be travelling. We will do our best to accommodate your travels!

How do I pause or cancel my account?

While we hate to see you go, you can pause or cancel your account by emailing contact@twentyeighthealth.com. Please let us know why you’re choosing to leave so we can do better in the future. We hope to see you back soon!

How do I restart my account if I’ve already paused or cancelled it?

Email us at contact@twentyeighthealth.com to restart your account at any time! We’re happy to have you back.

How It Works

How does Twentyeight Health work?

  1. Fill out a quick medical questionnaire online. If you have any questions, you can securely message a doctor or schedule an audio consultation with a doctor.

  2. A doctor will review your info within 48 hours and write a new prescription or renew your existing prescription based on your medical eligibility.

  3. Receive delivery at home 2-3 days after your prescription is written.

P.S. You can securely message a doctor for follow up questions after you receive your prescription. We want to make sure you have a trusted source for information and to find an option that works for you.

What types of doctors will I interact with?

Twentyeight partners with qualified and empowering female doctors, with strong experience in women’s health, looking to help expand birth control access.

What if I have more medically-related questions after I fill out the questionnaire?

After you have completed the sign up process, you can securely message a doctor on your dashboard.

What can I expect during my optional audio consultation with the doctor?

During the audio consultation, the doctor will ask you any follow-up questions based on your medical questionnaire. You can also ask questions to the doctor. If eligible, the doctor will prescribe you the appropriate birth control pill.

What happens if I can’t make my audio consultation with the doctor?

You can cancel up to 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you do not make your appointment, you will be charged a $40 cancellation fee.

Can I interact with the same doctor again in the future?

You may not always be able to message with the same physician because we want to prioritize a timely response. The doctors work as a team, and will provide personalized answers.

Can Twentyeight consult with my primary care physician (PCP)?

If you would like the doctors to share information with your PCP, you can email us at contact@twentyeighthealth.com, and we will do our best to accommodate.


Pricing & Billing

What is included in my monthly subscription?

This covers your birth control pill, at-home delivery, and the ability to message with the doctors.

What do I get charged?

When you start with Twentyeight, your initial doctor’s evaluation is $20 (one-time). We then charge your co-pay if you use insurance, or as low as $18/month if you pay out of pocket. And that includes delivery.

When do I get charged?

You will not be charged for the birth control pills until a doctor has evaluated your medical questionnaire. If you are paying out of pocket, you can choose to receive 1, 3 or 6 packs per delivery. If you are using insurance, we will send you the number of packs per delivery allowed by your insurance.

Your birth control will be billed automatically with each delivery. You can change your delivery frequency, pause or cancel your subscription at any time by emailing us at contact@twentyeighthealth.com.

How do I know what my co-pay will be?

The majority of insurance plans offer $0 co-pay options and the brands covered by insurers differ by plan. If your co-pay is more than $0, we will let you know by email and we will not charge you nor ship your prescription without your consent.

Will I get a billing reminder about my next delivery?

Yes! We will email you 2 weeks before your next delivery date, and you will have 72 hours to respond via email at contact@twentyeighthealth.com to make any changes to your delivery address, payment info, or delivery frequency.

Where are the birth control pills sourced from?

Drugs are shipped directly from an US pharmacy that is fully licensed in your state. All birth control pills are FDA-approved.


Delivery

How many months of pills can I receive at a time?

The doctors can write prescriptions that are valid up to a year. If you are paying out out of pocket, you can choose to get 1, 3 or 6 packs per delivery. If you are using insurance, we send you the number of packs allowed by your insurance.

If you want to change your frequency, you can email us at contact@twentyeighthealth.com, and we will do our best to accommodate.

How can I track my shipment?

We will send you an email with an estimated delivery date at purchase, and a confirmation once delivered. In many geographies, we are able to do same-day or next-day shipping.

Do I need to be home when you deliver?

Nope - we’ll leave the package in your building or at your front door, and it will be waiting for you when you get home.

What will the package look like?

While the outer packaging will be discreet (your nosy neighbors don’t need to know your business), the inside will be personalized with your items and a Twentyeight Health card.

Who dispenses, fills and sends my deliveries?

Twentyeight Health works with an excellent independent pharmacy partner that dispenses, fills and delivers the prescriptions. Our pharmacy partner is licensed in NY and NJ. Your prescription information is sent safely and securely directly from the doctor to the pharmacy.

Are refills automated or do I have to refill them every time?

Your refills are automated and you can set the number of packs you receive per delivery. If you are paying out out of pocket, you can choose to get 1, 3 or 6 packs per delivery. If you are using insurance, we send you the number of packs allowed by your insurance.

We will notify you by email 2 weeks before your next delivery date, and you have 72 hours to modify, pause or cancel the shipment. You can change the frequency, update your delivery address or stop your refills at anytime by sending an email to contact@twentyeighthealth.com.

Can I have my prescription sent to my local pharmacy?

Yes. While most people prefer the home delivery, you can definitely do that. You can ask to fill your prescription (obtained from our independent physician partners) at any pharmacy of your choice. Simply indicate it in the notes to the doctor while completing the questionnaire, or by emailing contact@twentyeighthealth.com right after completing the questionnaire. 

What should I do if I move and need to change my delivery address?

Notify us by emailing contact@twentyeighthealth.com as soon as possible. If your new residence is within the states we are currently active in, you will be able to continue using our service (and we will simply update your delivery address in your profile). If your new residence is outside of the states we are active in, we will unfortunately not be able to serve you anymore, but we are happy to help you find alternatives.


Birth control

How do I know what birth control to get?

Based on your answers from the medical questionnaire, the doctor will suggest a birth control that best fits your needs.

What brands are available at Twentyeight Health?

If you are paying with insurance, we provide more than 100 different brands at no more than your copay, including Alyacen, Apri, Aviane, Gianvi, Junel 1/20, Junel 1/20 FE, Loestrin, Loryna, Nuvaring, Sprintec, Yasmin, Yaz.

If you are paying out of pocket, we have 10 brands available for as low as $18/month (Drosperinone 3mg / Ethinyl estradiol 0.03 mg, Errin, Junel 1/20, Junel 1/20 FE, Larin 1/20, Larin 1/20 FE, Portia, Sprintec, Tri-Sprintec, Tri-Lo-Sprintec). What are the potential side effects?

While every woman reacts differently to birth controls, you can go to our education platform to learn more about potential side effects.

Do you offer emergency contraception?
